Membership and accreditation in professional associations ensures Hollyburn Properties remains accountable to our residents, our employees, and to the property management industry at large.
CRB is a voluntary quality assurance and accreditation program that assists renters to identify well-managed buildings with responsible landlords that adhere to strict standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.
For a property to be designated as a Certified Rental Building, it must meet 50 mandatory standards of practice and be reviewed by a third party auditor. These rigorous requirements address standards relating to resident management, human rights compliance, building operations, financial management and insurance, energy conservation, and sustainability. The certification is renewed every three years.
The main goal of the CRB program is to build consumer confidence and elevate operational standards in the rental housing industry. In addition to achieving accreditation at several buildings in Ontario through the Federation of Rental Housing Providers of Ontario, Hollyburn has spearheaded the launch of the program in Western Canada with Landlord BC, and is proud to represent the largest number of certified rental properties to date in British Columbia.
The Landlord Registry, similar to the industry-leading Certified Rental Building (CRB) Program, is a voluntary initiative designed to build consumer confidence and elevate operational standards in the rental housing industry. An online course and exam tests on the basic standards of practice and rights and responsibilities of BC’s Residential Tenancy Act (RTA). Successful graduates receive an “I Rent It Right” competency certificate and are listed in the online registry. Hollyburn has rolled out the Landlord Registry to all of our Resident Managers, and the course is now included in our training program for new staff.
