Spring Hope Food Drive & Clean Up Toronto

Hollyburn Properties’ 4th annual participation in the Spring Hope Food Drive in Ontario has come to a close. It was a resounding success!

All of our Toronto and Ottawa resident managers participated by canvassing door-to-door and collecting nonperishable food in our buildings. They even recruited a few residents to help!

The 2015 Hunger Report by the Ontario Association of Food Banks found a growing number of seniors and single people relying on food banks for hunger relief. Nearly 360,000 adults and children are using food banks each month across Ontario.

“Every single day there are Ontarians struggling to make ends meet and who are forced to make the difficult choice between their most basic needs, like paying the rent or eating a meal,” the report stated.

Thank you to all of our Hollyburn residents, staff members and partners who helped make this food drive a success. Eradicating hunger is dependent on the involvement and participation of many parts of the community, all working together towards one common goal. You can count on Hollyburn’s support next year!

But wait that’s not all! Our team in Ontario is on a corporate social responsibility roll!

We also participated in the City of Toronto’s “Community Clean Up Day” on Saturday, April 23rd 2016 – part of Live Green Toronto, the City’s program that promotes environmental sustainability in our neighbourhoods.
